Johnny Collins's third annual "Ifo&tballera' night" at tbe Hall was largely p*tromsed. Johnny sang a number of his own topical songs, and as usual received about eight encores. Mr "Al" DUmoVl, descriptive vocalist,- also sang a number of new son £8 iv good style. The Greenwoods are still travelling the country districts, doing good business with biulesques, comedies, etc.

Miss Marion Sampson has ai'rived in London from Auckland, and has aUefidy had a few oountry engagements. Maiion is not very anxious to return to New Zealand just at present. Mibs Ada Juneen's Oeniedy and Burlesqua Company will probably tour tho colonies shortly. The Flying Jordans will also tour the colonies, opening here in about three weeks' time. The company includes the Jordan Family (five ia number), John J. Burke, Miss Grace Forrest, Howard and St. Clair, Miss V. Agaron (the break-my-neck artist), M»rlo Bros., The Olifans, Olsf Schrader (trick cyclist), and others. Petrie and Elise, former members of the company, will not come, remaining in Sydney. Sid Frith, the trick skater, who was appeavipg in the south about a year x ago (now a tobacconist and barber in Karaugthake), had his shop broken into last week by burglars and all bis goods stolen. Sid now intends sleeping with a revolver under his pillow and a bulldog tied to his bed. Donald Dinnie is now horse-dealing here. Flo. Esdaile, an old Auckland girl, has secured a three years' engagement at one ot the London halls through Mr G. H. Chirgwin. The Auckland Amateur Opera Club are rehearsing " Les Cloches de Corneville."

Miss Gladys Leigh, " the coming woman," will be tendered a" comp " benefit shortly. Probasco's Ckcus has done well up north. Miss L. Large, of Napier, described as a charming poprauo, who has been in England for the past three years, will probably arrive by the lonic about the end of October and commence a tour of the colonies, afterwards returning to London again.

Messrs Cook, Rector, and Welby passed through in mail boat bound for Sydaey, bringing with them a kinematograph showing the CorbettMtzMmmons fight. , After touring Australia, the machine will be exhibited throughout New Zealand. Mr Welby, one of the partners, was around the colonies with the "Trilby" company about a year ago.
