THE NEW GOVERNOR.
Sydney, August 1. The Warrimoo, from Vancouver, with Lord Ranf arly and party, arrived this morning after a good passage. Berths bare been retained in the Aorangi, sailing next Saturday, if the Governor-elect withes to use them. His Lordship has not at present decided whether he will be able to remain in Sydney so long. The personalty of the new Governor is such that he is likely to be one of the most popular the colony has yet had. August 2. Lord and Lady Ranfurly are the guests of Viscount Hampden. They leave by the Tutaneksi on Wednesday. Wellington, August 2. Lord Ranfurly is expected to arrive at 1 p.m. on Monday next, and the citizens are invited to observe a public holiday. His Excellency's first reception will be on the 11th inst. The citizens 1 conversazione at the Parliamentary Buildings will be held on the 18th, followed by a ball on the 19 th inst.
