Tenth Day — Tuesday.
The examination into the affairs of the Ward Farmers' Association was concluded on Tuesday afternoon, in the presence of a large audience, who apparently expected that some revelations were about to ba made. Mr Birch, who was the last witness to give evidence, was remarkably candid, and his recital of the interview between himself and Mr Fisher on the occasion when the latter acquainted him with the state of the association's affairs created a considerable amount of interest and amusement. *
Two out of * mob of 20 bullocks killed at the Wanganui Freezing Company's works last Thursday were found to be so badly diseased (says the Chronicle) that the meat had to be destroyed. Outwardly the beasts looked fat and healthy. The Otago High School Old Boys' Club's annual dinner will be held on Aueust 6. in the Grand fiotel, Dunedia,
