THE GAZETTE.
A- proclamation appears in the Gazette altering* the boundaries of the Cook and Waiapu Counties. Mr E. C. Skog has been appointed Belgian consular officer at Christchurch. Mr D.- Buddo is appointed a memberof the Lyttelton Harbour Board, vice Mr A. Parßons (deceased). Mr W. A. M'Leod is appointed assistant icsiracbor at the Thames School of Mises, vice Mr P. G. Morgan, resigned. The Imperial volunteer officer's decoration has been bestowed on Lieut.-colonel F. W. Fr&ncig, North Canterbury Battalion. Revised regulations for the entry of naval cadets [into the -British Navy appear in the Gazette. A number of alterations in the railway rates are announced principally for bicycles, which will henceforward bo carried 12 miles for 3d and so on to 50 miles for Is and 3d for each additional 50 miles or fraction thereof. The Public Trustee announces that he has taken possession of unclaimed sections in Ngaroto (County of Waipa) and Waipipi (County of Eden). He also gives notice to claim six acres at Meauee (Huwke's B&y). The public Recounts for the June quarter appear in the Gazette.
The export of coal products from Grey mouth last week was 3207 tons, and of y timber 229,000 ft and 1300 sleepers.
