Sib, — In your last issue I noticed a short paragraph stating that a certain gentleman at Havelock had held the position of chairman of the school committee for 17 consecutive years, which was believed to ba a recoid reigu. He is not entitled to the honour, as Mr A. Dickie, of this place, completed his eighteenth consecutive term in the early part of this year, having been first appointed in 1879. — I am, Ac , Tuturau, July 13. W. J. Williams.
