London, July 7. The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 930,000 quarters, and for the Continent 810,000 quarters. Share quotations : National Bank of New Zealand, L 2; Bank of New Zealand 4 per cent, guaranteed stock, 104; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company 4 per cent, prior lien debentures, 97. Tallow : Prices unchanged. July 9. The Bank of England reserve is L 25,260,000, the proportion o£ reserve to liabilities being 49 37 per cent. Three months' bills are discounted at 7-8 per cent. Hemp unchanged. The American visible -wheat Buoply is 25,740,000 bushels. The English wheat market is firm, but little business is doing. The Continental market, is changing a little for the better, while American market is firm. Californian No. 1 milling (for early shipment), 30s 3d ; Russian cargoes, 28s. No. 1 hard Dalutb, 31s OS. At the London wool sales bidding was spirited, and prices were very firm. The Bradford market is quiet ; prices unchanged. PJg iroD, 14s 3d. Sugar, very dull. German beet, 8s 6d ; Java 10s 4id. Silver, 2s 3 11-163. July 11. Mutton : New Zaaland crossbreds, wetherß or maiden ewes — Canterbury 3 9-163, Danedin and Southland 3£d, North Island 3J. The above quotations are for average quality and for lines of not less than 100 carcasss. Lamb : Prime Canterbury, 321b to 42ib, 4Jd; a fair average, including Danedin, Southland, Wellington, and secondary Canterbury, 321b to 421b, 4d. -The quotations for lamb do not include sales of small lambs or heavies or inferior quality. River Plate sheep : Crossbreds or merino wethers — heavy 2 13-16 d, light 2 13-16 d.
