GAMES.

The following are the remaiuing games of the recent sitting between Messrs W. M'llwrick (Invercargill) and James Mulvey (Gore) :—

Game 2644— " Cross." Third game — M'llwrick's move.

Game 2645—" Glasgow." •Fourth game— Mulvey's move.

Game 2646—" Centre." Fifth game— M'llwrick's move.

Game 2647— "Fife." Sixth game — Mulvey's move. This was an even game up to the following position :— Black men on 8, 12, 13, k 18 : White men on 20, 21, 31. k 10. White moved 31: 26 and lost by the two for one cut ; 31 27 was the proper move, and is a good lesson not to move too nastily without looking up the consequence. V

Game 2618— " Dyke."

(*) Mr Mulvey remarked that he got some one into the same loss at the Oamaru tourney. (o) 1 6 gives Black the pull.— Dr. Ed.
