Auckland, July 5. Dear Pasquin,— St. John and Hayman's Dramatic Company concluded^their seaeon at the Opera House on Wednesday last. " Current Gaeb," "Queen's Evidence," and "Harbour j Lights" were staged duriDg the week. The- ' season, was a fairly successful one. The company 1 left for Napier on Thursday. j-" The- Monday " pops " at the City Hall are doing ! exceptionally well at present. James Bryant, ventriloquist, was the new artist last Week. i The Fredo -Kamily at the Olympian Hall are' ' doing fa<r business. The Greenwoods commence & short season at" the City Hall to-morrow night, producing the.i balcony scene from "Romeo and Juliet," the I third act of the opera " Faust," and the fifth act of " Tits Two Orphans." The Greenwoods (3), Mr ' Arthur Salyini,, Mr Harry Baxter (coster-singer), and Herr Zimmermann aie some of the members' of the company-. Crawford and Moore's variety show at the City ' Hall are doing fairly well on Sa-turday nights, i The Auckland Amateur Opera Ciub hold au operatic (costume) concert at the Opera House on the 7th. inst , as a benefit to the widow and family of the late Mr 11. Thomson, who was for some time a member of the club. Items from "The Mikado," "Sorcerer," " Yenman of the Guard," "Gondoliers," " Madame Fa vart," and "Maritana." will be given. Charles Cooper and Pegler's limelight show at Onehunga are doing well. Mr H. N. Abbott will have the Opera House fitted up and decorated in fine slyla shortly. It is about tinao something was done to the place. The Auckland Amateur Opera Club have re» ceived permission from Mr Bannister, the New Zealand " rep." for Williamson and Musgrove, to produce itenua from "The Mikado" and " Gondo- . Hers " at the co3tuine concert to be given on Wednesday next. " Britannia and Her Daughters " was staged by a crowd of amateurs at St. James's Hall during the week. The Flying Jordan?, after touriug Australia, will visit New Zealand. Mr Johnny Cullen is keeping a poultry farm in tbe suburbs. Two or three small shows are touring the conn' try district?.
