TAHUNA PARK TROTTING MEETING.

The second day's racing in connection with j the Tahuna Park Record Reign trotting meet- • ing took place at Tahuna Park on Tuesday in I flue weather, and there was a large attendance. Messrs Mason and Roberts put £2091 through the totalisator daring the day, or £709 more than on Saturday, the total amount; going through the machine on the two days of the meeting being £3473. In the principal event of the day — viz., the Record Reign Handicap — the rider of Beaconsfield, who finished second in the race but was distanced, lodged a protest against Repealer beiug declared the winner on tbe ground of inconsistent running. On Saturday in the President's Handicap, which was run in harness, Repealer came in fourth, and it was alleged that he did not then do his best. The stewards, after considering the matter, decided to let the horse have a run again m harness by himself, and he covered the two miles in smin 45« ec, or 24« ec more than his winning time.
