This is the sequence to the school committee's resolution that caused so much critical feeling The movement is a popular one, and has the goodwill of residents far and near, which will greatly facilitate the carrying out of the work. Fire.— A house belongiug to aMr Kinniard and situated near Rimu was burned dowu at an parly hour on Friday morning, the occupants having just time to save themselves. The origin of the fire is unknown.

Political.— An attempt will be made this week to form at Rimu a political association that is to do everything or nothing for the welfare of the district. It is expected that the majority of electors will join the asa., and so be in the merry throng.
