Thespian continued to pilot the field along the back, and at ths five furlongs wa3 a length and . a-half in advance of Vigilance, while Rockwall, Hopscotch, and Messmate were all handy, and Right Honorable a bad last. The half-mile post saw Thespian still in charge, waited on by Rockwall, Messmate, Vigilance, Hopscotch, Loch i Leigh, and Projectile, but in the next furlong '< Freedom rushed to the front, and approaching the J bend was followed in order by Thespian, Rock- i wall, Loch Leigh, aud Right Honorable. Freedom | was first into the straight from Rockwall and Thespian, while Adoration was showing prominently on the outside, and Right Honorable coming fast on the rails Freedom and Thespian were beaten at the distance, and Adoration getting to the front after a .short struggle with Rockwall, won by half a length, while a head divided > second aud third. Projectile and tiara were next, i Time, 2iniu lO^ec.
