Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin, Dunedin, . 'report (wholesale) as follows for week ending • April 28. All quotations subject to market fluctuations : — We would ask farmers when sending samples always to put a price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers. Wheat.— Market fairly brisk for prime samples. 'We quote : Best velvet — Oamaru 4j 2d, south 4s ; best 'uscan— Oamaru 4s, south 3a lid to 4s ; red chaff, 3s lid to 4s ; fowls' wheat, 3s to 3s 6d. Oats : Not many offering ; nearly all for storage. We have sold a few line' of prime Sutherlands at 2s 3d to 2s 4d, and can place more at fame price. Bright ehort feed, 2s to 2s 2d. and have an order to execute for 20,000 sacks. We have placed several thousand sacks during the week. Barley : Feed sorts are quoted 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; malting, from 3s fid to 4s 2d. Ryecorn (in good -demand, and ■we can place a large quantity at quotation?; send in samples), 3s to 3s 3d. Flour : We quote £12. Oatmeal in 25's, £12. Pearl barley, £14. Bran, £3 ss. Pollard, £4. Nelson hops are auoted at lOid to Is. Chaff: good old, £3 ss; new "at £2 17s 6d to £3 Ryegrass : There is a good deal offering. The only demand, however, is for small shotty seed, other descriptions being at present only saleable at very low prices, which owners are not inclined to accent in the meantime. Durine the week we have placed a large quantity at from 2s to 3s Id per bushel (sacks extra) ; for farmers' dressed, 2s to 2s lOd ; machined, 3s 3d to 4s — a Rood inquiry for small seed. Cocksfoot, 3d to 4Jd for farmers' lots, and 4Ad toSJd for machined. Pressed straw, 278 6d. Ofovpr hay, £2 12s 6d to £2 15s Nitrate ofsodn, £15. Kainit, £5. Basic slag, £5. Clovers, rape, &c, just landing. We can offer all classes of seeds pure and fresh. v Potatoes.- Kidneva (very little demand, unless suitable for seed), £3 to £4. Derwents, £3 to; £2 ss. Jlabbitskins.— We offered a good catalogue on "~ Monday, and cleared the lot at late rates. We quote : Prime winters, lOd to 12d ; springs, 6d to 8d ; summers, 3-i to 5Jd per lb. Sheepskinß. — We quote : Butchers' green cross- ' breds, Is 61 to 3s 3d; dry crossbred*, 2s 5d to 6? 6d ; dry merinos, 2s 3d to 3s Gd ; medium do, It 6d to 2s. Hides, ljd to 3Jd, according to weight and condition. Tallow : Rough fat, 93 6d to lls ; rendered, 12s to 15s. Horsehair, Is to Is 3d. We have buyers tor all good quality at quotations. Cheese : Good Akaroa, 3?d to 4d ; factory, 4d to 4}t\ Pig 3, 3Jd for good quality ; wanted. Poultry received for sale any days but Saturdays. Roosters (young), 2s fid to 2s 9d ; hens, 2s 6cl ; ducks (young), 3s to 3s Gd.
