Michell had ri'den up fr«iu Dunedin the day before ; the road was a little soft in places. The time wa^ taken by Mr Hart, and there was quite a number of people at the post otfiee, eagerly awaiting for Michell and O'Leary. I understand that the cup, which is a very handsome one, wi'l be shortly presented by Dr Mullin, president of the club. Couiit Oasfs.— The monthly sittiog of the court here takes place this week on Thursday and Friday. This class of concert is always successful. — Mr Morrison has fixed the date of his Scotch concert for May 21. An attractive programme of vocal and instrumental music ia being provided, and the local Orchestral Society are giving four or five items. Mining Accident. —An accident happened last week to Mr G. A good deal of grain lias also pisse<t through, as good prices are obtained up-couutry. 1 know of one man who was in Blacks recently, and he had to pay as mucfl as 5s for a bushel of oats. Locally the price pur bushe is about 2s 3d. Changes.— lt is current here that Mr G. W.
