Fenwick supplies the following extracts from head office report received by him for week ending April 2 :— * Smelting Plant.—Furnace No. 2 shut down for a couple of days for repairs to upper water jackets; furnace No. lin continuous operation. Extension of .Smelting Plant —Minor carpentry work on building in progress. New engine room: Foundations for new root?, blowers, and air culverts completed ; retaining wall in progress. '. Storage bins : Awaiting arrival of timber from ■ Hobart. No. 3 fui nice : Downcast flae com1 plete-i in place; brickwork above same in proi giess ; erecting bottom plates, side plates, &c. of hearth. Converter Plant.—Working continuously with one vessel; about 500 tons of copper shipped to date.
