DREDGING RETURNS. Mi- Thomas Callender reports 450z 12gr retorted gold from the Sew Hoy Big Beach Gold Mining Company (Limited). The Upper Waipori Alluvial Gold Dredging Company (Limited) obtained from No. 1 dredge 390z 4d*t of gold for 134 hours'dredging, and from No. 2 dredge lOoz 13Jwt of gold for 132 hour 3* dredging last week. The Jutland Flat (Waipori) Gold Mining Comoany (Limited) obtained 20oz 3dwt of gold fcr
136 houra' wages time (127 hours' actual dredging) last week. The Dunediu dredge return is 13oz 3dwt for^the week. The Dunedin Stock Exchange reports the following returns'r-'-GoldeTi Treasure Dredging Company, 12ioz for week ; Ofcago Dredging Company, lljoz tor four days, lliver unsuitable for dredging. Mr C. S. Reeve 3 reports a return of 13oz 17dwt 12gr from the Knterprise dredge for the past week. The Roxburgh Amalgamated Company washed down No. 3 elevator on Tuesday for 105oz lOchvt 12gr, aud No. 1 elevator on Thursday for 330j; lOdwt. — Mount Bcngcr Mail. Mr Thomas Callender reports SJoz gold from the Matakitaki Gold Dredging Company (Limited) for 120 hours' dredging. JProspects improving. MOUNT LYELL MINING AND RAILWAY COMPANY (LIMITED). Air A. G. Fenwick supplies the following extracts from head office report received by him for week ending March 19 :—: — Smelting I'lant.— Furnaces Nos. 1 and 2 shut dowu a couple of days for the purpose of cleaning up flue dust in maiu flue and hill flue ; this work fully accomplished and furnaces started again. Extension of Smelting Plant.— Building for additional furnaces, also for stoves and boilers, practically completed, except feed floor. New Engine Room.— Brick walls of same iv progress. Kx'avating for foundation of the two new No. 7 Root's blower.'. No. 3 Furnace. — Biick work of shaft above columns and mantel fi une in progress ; machinery for stoves and No. 3 furnace coming iD. Converter Plant. —Working continuously with onp vessel ; about 310 tons of blister copper shipped to date, 50 tous more in readiness for shipment.
