The Peninsula Rabbit Prosecutions.

TO THE EDITOK. j Sib, — In connection with the above prosecuI tiona there was a case of genuine hardship, i One of the settlers. Mr J. M'Gregor, of , Sandymount, has for years used every reasonable effort to keep down the rabbits on his Bms.ll holding. Not only has he put down poison regularly, but he has also gone to considerable expense in erecting rabbit-proof • fencing. In court he produced numerous receipts for rabbit poison, but it was all to no . purpose. The inspector had seen uot more than half a dozen rabbits on the small farm, and the smill farmer was pounced upon and fined, while his influential neighbour, whose boldiDg is notoriously overrun with rabbits, was allowed to escape. , If the Government is the true friend of the i small farmer they will see to it that injustice |of this nature ia not repeated. — I am, &c, April 9. An Eye- Witness. Nimjio and Blair's "Standard" Seeds for present lowing. We will ba pleaded to send samples of all agricultural seeds to any address in the colonies. "Standard" Seeds are ' always reliable. Dunedin.— Adrfc.
