The clean-up for la^t month at the Glenrock Company amounted to 1450z of smelted gold from 250 tons of quii'tz The Westralia Company obtained 730z smelted gold from 208 tons of quartz for last month. Mr Jabez,.3urton .r.eports: — "The Ettrick dredge wastied up for the week 12oz gold. The river ia much too high for dredging, but is now cummencing.to recede slowly. The Roxburgh dredge wa«hed up for 4 z lOdwt gold. Tho ground prospects very well, but the buckets cannot deliver tho washdirt into the sluice boxes on account of the sandy nature of the ground, which causes it to stick to tho buckets and then drop into the river. Tho dredgem aster, however, is effecting improvements this week to tiy and oveicome the difficulty.
