W«, Hitlop attempted to address a public raeetiag ( to explain the attitude adopted by him in connection with the Mulvancy lfaUer, which played a prominent part in the 1 recent Suburbs , election petition. The meeting from the • begiuning was hostile, the audieuue indulging , in oivtcali* and singing songs, the voice of the , speaker being inaudible. Mr R. C. Bruce 1 alto attempted to address the meeting, and > J met with but little hotter success, tho gather- j [ ing eventually breaking up in disorder. No j indication was made as to the Opposition candidate likely to contest the seat. j
