JUNIOR CUP.
The match Oceana v. Dunedin was commenced at Montecillo on Saturday. The Ocvana, batting first, scored 140. Butler contributed 68 in good style, aud Graham (15) and King (10) also batted well. Dunedin lost five wickets for 58 (M'Kenzie 18, Hutcheson 14, Stubbs 11). The match Opoho v. High School ws-s played on the Asylum ground, aud resulted in a win for Opoho by 37 runs on the first innings. Opoho made 71 (Thompson 17, Dobie 14, M'G-Avin 12). Campbell took seven wickets for the High School, who, on going in to bit, vi.-de 34 runs. Gough (five vrickets for 9 runs) and M 'Arthur (four for 2) were in excellent form with the ball. At the call of time Opoho in their second iuningi bad lost four wickets for 59 ruus (Collett2s. B. White 17 not out). The Heudley met the Taic ri at Mosgiel when they were dtfeated by 32 runs. Scores : Taieri, 111 (J. Allan 46, J. Inglis 10, N. Price 32) ; Hendley, 79 (F. Rowlatt 31, J. Cornish 24) The University scored a win against the Privateers on the As>lutn ground. The University batting first compiled 63 rum (O'Shea 20, Hotop 10), while the Privateers were disposed of for 28, this small score being largely attributable to the good fielding of the 'Varsity, for whomO'Shea and Neil secured the wickets. The Roslyu Eleven defeated the Waverley, at B : shopßcourt, after an exciting gamf, by 6 ruui on the first icnings. Roslyn batting first knocked up 50 (Fisher 23), but Waverley only succeeded in making 44 (Baird 18, Nees 14). For lioslyn Ficlier and Acmi% and for the Wavc-rley Cr&mond and Bckhoff were tLe most successful bowlers. Tbe mi£ch Caversham v. Albion resulted in a win fortho fertnerby 19 ran?. Norman (14) for the Cavers) wm and Peaka (11) for the Albion were the only batsmen (v reach double figures. For tiie Ch venous, E. Brigcs (throe wickets for 5 runs) nnd JJa^e.Ky (five for 11), and J. Specie (nx for 19), for ihe Albioui bowled well.
Tha Grauge failed to pnt in an appearance to meet the Morcicgton, who thus win by default. The match between the Union Steamship Company and Star Clubs resulted in a victory for the former by 7 runs. The scores were : — Uniou Company, 49 (Smith 11, Eva 11) ; Star, 42 (M'Laren 13. Elder 16). Wilkie, Smith, Jones, and Waloott for the U.S.S. Company, aud Elder, Bennett, Rowlatt, aud M'Laren for the Star, bowled well for their respective sides.
