Leg Stump, Palmerston, inquires if there is a recognised minimum number of matches in which a bowler must bowl or a batsman bat in order to qualify for bowling or batting averages. There is no recognised minimum number of matches. Each club in which trophies are offered for the beat averages generally prescribes a minimum number of innings which a batsman muse play in order to qualify, and a minimum number of balk which a bowler must deliver in order to qualify.
