December 1. — The ordinary meeting of the J Portobello Rotcd Board whs attended by Mesirs W. Dickson (chairman), Cross, Hinkley, Edward?, Milne, North, Macandrew, and Sewton. The deputation appointed' to interview the Library Committee.} 1 * quarrying on the reserve reported that the committee would lease & quarry for £5 a y;ar. — Resolved that the matter stand over for the preseEt. Mrs Francis wrote -asking the board for some repairs to Leith Walk road. — The inspector was iustructed to see to the'Tepairs necessai-y. The Secretary to the Charitable Aid Board wrote asking the board to pay their contributions monthly.— The clerk was instiucted to inform tho writer that the board was acting on that principle at present. The toll collector iep.>rted that £11 13s <5d was collected for the month.
