Whether the suffering whioh people undergo from disease is more physical than mental is a point not easy to decide. It depends largely on the nature of the disease and tho make-up of tho iudi vidual. Experience seams to show, however, that in one- prevailing disease — indigestion or dysp«(>sU — the ttro kinds of suffering ate very ev«nlv divided, and both very gteat, the mental distress being ehieflj due to the illusions aud deceptions which attend it. For <'X«np!e, tht.ugh dynpepsia is solely an affection ot the digestive organ*, it has gr<ab power to set. up difordeiv lo others which*! ways alarm tbe sufferer, and otteu perplex >.ia medical advisers. These symptoms or svqut-neds may relate to the bead, tbe heart, tha tight, the hearing, the lung», or to other organs or functions. Take au illustration or two. " Iv tae spring oi 1891," says Mr Edward , T&tbam, "I foil into a low, weak stato of health. I had a foul ta*te in tiie mouth, , and j was constautly spitting up a thick phlegm. My -appetite was poor, and alter eatiug I had fulness and phiu at the coest — tho latter seemed to ba puffed or swollen. What made mo i most anx'ous was my breathing which came to be so difficult and short tbat at times I could orily catch my breath by au effort. I was led to fancy that fometbiug must ail my lungs, especially as so great a quantity of mucaß I gathered in my throat and mouth. It was usually worse at night, and I gob very little sleep on account of it ; sometimes none at all. In a morning I would be quite worn out. "As time went on I became very weak, and was much put to it to get about. I took all kinds of uiediciuen, and got no proper relief from anything. Iv February 1893 Mr William Beardsley. grocer, Cottnanhay, told me how he bad b;en, cured ef a like trouble by Mother SelgeFe Curative Syrup. Acting on his advice I got a bottle of this madicioe from Mr Platt's Drug Stores, A ws worth Road, and after taking it feit quite another man. My breathing ■ was easier and my food agreed with me. I continued usiog the Syrup, and got stronger and batter every day. When I had taken four bottles I was at well as ever, being free from all pain or discomfort. My wife, who has, suffered for yearn from liver complaint, has taken the Scrap, with the same goou re»ulteas in my ' own case. You are at; liberty to make any, use ycu like of this statement. — (Signed) ICdward Tatham, Tatham's Lane, Cotmanhay road, i likes ton, Derbyshire, March 21, 1895." "In October 1888," writes another, "I began to feel weak, heavy, and tired. My appetite was poor, and after eating I had distress ab the stomach, together with shortness of breath, and a good deal of pain across the cheet. Sometimes I would ba taken with sudden dizziness, as though I must fall to the ground. Cold, clammy sweats used to break out all over me and I trembled from head to foot. Finally, I got so weak I could scarcely walk to my work ; indeed I had occasionally to leave my work ; I have been away as loDg as * month at a time. In this way I suffered lor about two years. "In August 1890 Mr Thompson, the grocer in Church street, urged me to try Mother Seigol's Syrup. After taking only one bottle I felt better. My food agreed with me and I wae stronger. Continuing with this medicine, gradually all pain left me, and I completely recovered my health. ■ Since then I have kept the Syrup in the house for use in time of need. You are free -to publish this statement. (Signed) William Mallender, 71 Robinaon'a Buildiogs, Newhill, Wath, near Sheffield, October 11, 1895." Cages of supposed disease of the heart, of tbe nervous system, oE the kidneys, &c, constantly prove to be not organic affections of thoic j "parts at all, bat merely' local or functional .disturbances caused by the toxic or poisonoua J principles thrown into the blood by the decom- • position or fermentation of food in the sfcoraaeh ; ' ofcherwiso, by dyspepsia'or indigestion. Bub , until they are discovered to be so they are mistakenly' treated, and serious, often fatal, results follow. Until pronounced and undeniably symptoms of organic mischief ihow them«elve» ''whioh is not the case once in a hundred times) you may take it for granted that your ailmenb is some form of dyspepsia, easily curable by Mother SeigePa Syrup, as demonstrated fey the two ißßtunces cited above, . - »--
