We have reoeived the programme of tbe Wellington Industrial Exhibition Bowling Tournament, which commences in Wellington on the 25ih January next, and extends ever five days. Monday and Wednesday »re to be devoted to interclub matches. On Wednesday a start will be made wi^h the Champion Fairs nnd Club Champion Fours matches. Thess will be continued on Thursday, when th«re will also -be played a rink match Australia v. New Zealand. The attraction for Friday is the Champioa Match North v. South Island of New -Zealand. The Pnirs and Club Champion Fours; matches, will be concluded. The tournament is under the auspices of the Northern Bowling Association. Suitable prizes are given for each, of the' matches. Melbourne, December 5. At the cycling carnival the weather was fine, and there was an enormous attendance. Results :—: — Austral Wheel Race. — Kuhl, 15yds, 1; Walne, 20yds, 2 ; Elliot, 150 yds, 3. Won easily by 10 lengths. Time, 4min 29sec, which is a record for the Austrnl Wheel Race. Five-mile International Scratch Rack.— Keu Lewis 1, Kuhle 2, Porta 3. The yachting season was opsned on Saturday, afternoon. The weather was ideal, and there were a large number of yachts on tbe water, among which were noticeable the Anonym* (commodore), Mistral (vice-commodore), Trilby, Thelma, White Wings, Madge, Fleotwing, Matakana, Nell, Mirage, Gem, Dream, Waterwitch, and Vision. After the procession a race was held, the course being from the vice-commodore's boat, fore? times round the beacon past three-legs. The Mat&kana and the Dream got the best of the start, and rounded the beacon in that order, the White Wings and the Thelma following. On the run home the places remained unaltered, but on tho second rounding of the beacon the Thelma changed places with the White' Wings. ' After this the leading boats held' their places to the end, the Matakana finishing 2£min before the Dream. The Thelma gave the Dream a smart, go, for second place, finishing only Bseo behind her. As the -Mata* kana had to give tho Dream 4min handicap, the little boat easily saved her time, winning by liinin, the Thelma, being displaced for third by the White' Wings in like manner. The prize, a handsome two-guinea trophy, will be presented at the close of the season.
