December 8. The Auckland Racing Club Committee were tcomplained to yesterday by several owners as to the way Mr Evett had been handicapping their 'horses. After considering the grievances the -committee answered that they had every confidence in the way their official was discharging .his duties. Work is being, pushed on at Ellerslie in view of ■our Summer meeting. Mahalri was extended .yesterday and Bhaped well,' and so did St. Paul -and Day Star. Taylor will ride Mahaki, and ■ either he or St. Paul will win the Cup. Of the jumper*, St. Simon is doing the best work, and I .'Lave a big regard for his chance in the Steeple- - chase. ■ - •■ Bragela, by Panic from Phyllis, last week threw >» cheatniit colt to St. Leger at Sylvia Patk stud. , Cantiniere, by Musket from Queen Bees, has -produced a colt 'to Seaton Delaval. One good result of the elections to racing in the North bland was the defeat of Messrs Mitchell on and Oarnell, two bitter opponents of the totalisator. The Possible's withdrawal from the Auckland 'Cup was dae to the horse having struck himself.
