It is possible that riding in moderation might have a strengthening effect, but ihere is always the risk of your being tempted to overdo it, and thus aggravate the trouble. (2) I never heard of nails splitting acrcsd the fingers in the way you describe. Probably it is due to a delicate state of health aggravating a constitutional defect. (3) I do not know, not having tried the latter, put I am personally quite content with Sunlight. (4) It will probably go away of itself in time.
