DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. Weekly Report.

Messrs Wiught, Stephesson, and Co. report as follows :—

At Saturday's sale there was a moderate number of horsus of all classes forward, Ijiifc a rather poor atteidance of buyers. Most of the draught horses offered were rather light, although some of them were useful sovts. For these the demand was good, but a much greater inquiry exists for good, h'avy joung animals. Very few young, meaty draughts are forthcoming just now, and •we can atvoogly recommend 1 consignments. Spring-c*r!.erß were poorly represented ; all of the horses of this class offered to-day were aged or light and inferior. There was not much business done in this class, as the inquiry is confined chiefly to really good, active young horses suitable for spring vacs, Ac. Hacks and lightharness horses, with two or three exceptions, were also poorly represented. No inquiry whatever exists for light and inferior horses of this class. Strong, useful harness boraes meet with a moderate amount of attention, and Eell at fair values. We quote: Heavy draughts, four to Bix years, £22 to £27 ; do eight to ten years. ,£ls to £20; light and email do, £8 to £12; aged and inferior do, £4 to £7; upBtanding spring-cart horses, young and sound, ;£l2 to £1(5; well-bred upstanding hacks and harness horses, £16 to £20 ; upstanding hacks and harness horses, £10 to £14 ; aged and inferior, £2 to £&,.
