At about 3 p.m. the pack, in chuga of the huntsman (Frank Smith) on the olever Freemason and J. Bamber on the Southland horse Come* away, were astembled at Mr M'Gregor's. Mr F. Laing, who acted as deputy-master, did nob keep thtm long waiting, but quickly despatched young M'Gregoi' with the drag. The result was two .excellent short runs. There were three spills — the whip, on Comeaway; Mr P. M'Grafcb, - Jack Harkaway ; and Mr Hastie, Revolt, Fortunately none "of the riders or horses were hurt. Those who took an active part in the proceedings were : Mr W. Htzlett, on Ulster; Mr L. Hazlett, Captain; Mr Baird, Kelly ; Mr C. Newman, Tapanui ; Mr J. M'Kay, Flemington Bob; Mr O'Connell, Young Gorton ; Mr C. Hendricks. Bombardier ; Mr Blenldnsopp, My Queen ; Mr George Smifch, R^bel jMr F. L»ing, Happy Dream ; Mr T. Godfrey, Dandy ; Mr A. Kiog, Silventream ; Mr J. M'Kay, Masterpiece ; Mr J. Ellis, Lady Clair. Nimrod.
