The customs revenue collected at" the thief ports for the quarters ended 3bt M*rchlß9s and 1896 are. respectively : Auckland. £92,267 and £107.328;" Wellington, £93.324 and £92,236 ; Lyttelton and Christ ohuroh, £64,425 and £69^754 ; Dunedin, £83,173 and £9.3,071.. The tofcal for the colony was £411,778 for March quarter 1895, as against £438,854 for th« similar quarter this year. For the financial year ended March 31, 1896, Auckland contributed £393,170, Wellington £359,057. Ljttelton and Christchutch, £257,703, and Dunedin £341,906. The total for the colony was £1,649,344.
During May rain fell at Auckland on 18 day*, the total fall in inohea beit<g 3*63 ; at Wellington on 14 day?, 302 ; At Ohristchuro'a on 5 days, 0 38 ; at Danedin on 12 days, I*6l. A list of teachers holding certificates or licenses under the Education Acb is published*
