HUNTING.
DUNEDIN HOUNDS.
Saturday's meet was to have been at Wakari, bub the fates wer« against! it, the ground on Mr Passmore's property being in too sloppy a condition to hunt on. Toil being so, it was resolved, m the next best thing, to adjourn to Mr MacGregor's, at Seaviow, where a good run o»n be depended on in all weather*. That worthy farmer soon laid out a short run, the going being good bub a little greaiy. Two very enjoyable runs were obtained. The oompany was not as large as usual, but was mostly composed of straight goers, tbe principal partici* pants in the sport being — Mr Reid, on K«lly ; Mr C. Newman, Bostonian; Mr T. M'Ktj, Tapanui ; Mr Downes, Waitangi ; Mr Jamej Allan, Bombardier ; Mr J. Ellie, Jaok Harkaway ; Mr Norrie, Kate Kearney ; Mr A. King, Silverstream ; Mr W. Hazlett, Ulster ; Mr L. Hazlett, Captain ; Mr J. M>Kay, Flemington Bob} Mr H.riey, Pearl; Mr T. Godfrey, Daudy ; Mr F. Lamp, Happy Dream ; Mr C. Laing, Wolf. There were two lady vfoitors, nicely mounted, from the North Island. The runs were gob through without a bitch, the hounds being now in splendid condition. The huntsman was well carried by Freemason, J. Bamber riding that good crojs-country horae Cornea way. It has been arranged to meet at the same place on Wednesday, and Wakari, if the weather is at all favourable, on Saturday. Nihrod.
