Christchurch, July. 1. At tbe Addingt^n market to-day the attendance whs small, and the entries in nearly all classus below the average. Fat Cattle.- 172 head, which formed the beef supply for the week, contained some very" fair quality. There was a slightly better demand. Steers brought from £5 7s 6d to £8 7s 6d, heifers £5 to £6 10s, and cows £i to £7 2s 6d. Fat Sheep.— A medium entry, with small proportion of freezers. The quality was irregular, but competition for all aud bottsr clauses wits keen, the market closing at an advance of quite Is per head on last week 8 values. Prime freezing wethers, Iss to 18s 9d ; do mixed sexes, IBs to 17a 10d: do prime maiden ewes, 13s to 17a 6d| wethers, 133 to Ha lid ; extra good butcher ewes, 13s to 16s 9d ; fair to good do, 10s to 13s ; medium do, 7b to 9s 9d ; merino wethers, 8s 6d to Us 6d. Fat Lambs.— The smallest yarding for the season came to hand, including some very good sort*. Owing to satisfactory news from the London market, all lines suitable for export met a ke«» "demand, bringing from Us to I3i 3d ; butcheia,* Boita sellins at from Si to lOa Bil. Piga.— A f»ir yurding of nil;.-). A very y,o»& demand for all sorts fit for tho knife at from 3d to 3}d per lb.
