ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.
Christchurch, June 17. There was a good attendance at Addington mark st to-d-^y, and tho entries were fairly large. Business was «?ood, especially in sheep, all fit for exuort meeting eager competition. Fat Cattle. — About 180 head yarded, comprising some very useful sorts. The eale was of an average description. Steers brought from £5 to £8 15< ; heifers, £3 12s 6d to £7 15s ; cow.-, £3 17s 6d to £6 123 6d. Prime beef realised frr-m 17s to 19* per 1001b, and inierior and cow beef from 13s to 17b. For dairy cattle, ordinary sorts brought from £3 103 to £5, and extra good ones up to £9. ■
Fat. Sheep. —A large yarding, including a fair propoition of freezing lines. The market opened firm at last week's rates for all classe?, and strengthened as the sale progressed for sheep fit for expert. Prices were: Best freezing wethTS, 16s to 18s ; fair to good do, 14s to 15a tfd ; mixed sexes, freezers, 14s 6d to 17s ; maiden ewe 3 for freezing, 1-ls to 163 ; butchers' heavy ewes, 12s to 15s ; good ewes, 10s to lls 9i ; inierior, 8s to 93 ; merino wether 3, 8s 9J to 13s. Fat Lambs.— There were only a few pens of lambs in, and these met with keen competition. Freezers brought from 10s to 12s, aud one extra line up to 13s.
P>gu.— About 300 pigs was yarded, and for these there was* a good market. Prices realised were : BaconerH, 303 to 403 ; porkers, 17s to 2ds 6d ; stores, from 9s 6d to 235.
