Messrs Moritzson and Hofkin, Dunedin, report (wholeFale) as follows for week ending June 10, 1896. All quotations subject to market .•fluctuations:— Business during the week has been very good. We have inquiry for Danish and long Tartarians for seed' purposes. 'We would also ask farmers when Bending samples always to put a price on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offeis. is firmer, with good inquiry. We quote test velvet 3s lOd to 3s lid ; best Tuscans, 3s 7d to 3s 8d; red chaff, 3s 6d to 3s €d.; fowls' wheat, 2s lOd to 3s 2d. Oats : Prime milling, up to 2s Id; bright short feed, Is lOd to Is lOJd; ordinary feed, Is 9d. Barley; Feed sorts are quoted 2s 2d to 2s 4d; malting, from 3s €d to 4s, Rye corn, 2s 3d to 2s ■ 9d. Flour s We quota £9 10«. Oatmeal in 25's, £11 Pearl barley, £12 10s. Bran, £3 10s. Pollard, j£4 10s, Nelson hops: New season's on the market, and are quoted at 9Jd to lOd. We just landed 20 bales from Nelson. Potatoes : Derfronts, from 57s 6d to 60s for prime. Chaff : Good quality, well-cut oaten sheaf, £2 12s 6d to £2 15s. Ryegrass : Farmers' lots, 2s to 2s lOd ; machined, Ss- 3d to 4s. Cocksfoot, 3d to 3}d for 161b seed. We have a big demand, and did large business during the week. Linseed i New cerosp s not to hand yet. Pressed straw, 32s 6d. Clorer hay, We receive rabbitskins, hides, sheepskins, and tallow, and return highest market values.- Hides wanted, at 2Jd to 3d per lb for good quality. We have sold this week a large quantity of hides and skin* at satisfactory prices, and have a good Remand to supply for orders. We hold weekly •ftfee.
Cornsaoks, seedsacks, woolpackß, and seaming twine at market rates. Crown gheep dip, in 6gal drums, 5s 63 per gallon; in larger quantities, 5s per gallon. RabDitskins.— We have to report having held our sale on Monday, when the .com petition for all lots was very keen, summers and autumnn wceiving marked attention. Skins are coming forward more fresly. We aj<ain beg to call the attention of our clients to thu necessity of thoroughly drying tha shins before packing. We quota: Summers, 6Jd to -8d: autumns, 7d to lOd; prime winters, 10|d to 12} d; blacks, lOd to 13d. Sheepskinß.— We have to report having held our weekly sale on Tuesday. Skins are coming m more freely, and prices on the whole were very good. The bidding was spirited, former prices being well sustained. We quote f ullwoolled merino, 4Jd to 5Jd per lb; halfwoolled merino, 4d to 41d; prime futt-woollei crossbred, 5Jd to 6Jd; half-woolled crossbred, 4d to sd; green lamb skins, beet. 2s 9d to 8s; medium,. Is 9d to 2» fid; short ana pelts, 2}d to 4d. Biitchar skins : Full-woolled, 33 Sd to 3a 7d ; Bhorfc and pelts, 7d to Is (3d. Horsehair, la to ]s 2id. Butter: Salt—Good quality is saleable at 9d per lb. We have good inquiry for prime quality. Cheese : Good Akaroa, 4id to 4Jd ; factory, 4id. Pigs : 3d for good quality. Beeswax wanted. Is to Is Id per lb. Poultry received for sale any days but Saturdays. Fruit : Sydney oranges, 5s 6d ; Island oranges, ss. Apples —Tastnanian French crabs, 11s; scarlet pea.rm.ain, 12s. I
