Excellent music was contributed by Mf sura 0. Letaon (piano), E. Laverty (violin), andß Moore (accordeon), ana Messrs S. Gallon and A. Beer officiated as M.C.'s. Refreshments were supplied in abundance. A feature of the evening was the manner in which Miss Dawson's quadrille pupils acquitted themselves. Or Kinney, on behalf of the hostess, asked all assembled to do honour to the toast of the evening — viz.. that of the guest, Miss Healy. He was sorry to think she was not going to be a permanent settler 1 in the district. Mr A. S. Lewis suitably responded on bebalf of the guent, for the manner in which they had received the toast, and in her behalf thanked Mrs Laverty for her kindnesn while in her employ. The guest would, he said, be missed from the district, as her familiar title, " Our £nte"andheragreeablepersonalityhadspproached to something of an institution among them. Three cheers- were then called for Mrs Laverty and Miss Healy, and' responded to heartily. The vocal items rendered during the pro -eodinga by Messrs T. and S. Callon, Pluthero, M'Atamney, Burgess, and Borthwick were much appreciated. The company broke up about 5 o'clock in the morning amidst cheers, all being sent home in good humour through the proceedings being orderly and the music proving excellent to the taste of those assembled.— [Occasional Correspondent.]
