THE SOUDAN EXPEDITION.
Suakin, June 7. Three thousand seven hundred Sapoys have arrived here. Cairo, June 8. The Egyptian troops defeated the dervishes at Ferkb Hills. The engagement was brisk, as the dervishes offered a stubborn resistance for three hours, till the mounted infantry turned the position and prevented a retreat. One thousand of the enemy were killed, while the Egyptian loss was only 60. Camels, horses, provisions, and many prisoners were captured. In order to complete the rout the cavalry are pursuing the scattered remnants of the Mahdi's forces. The Rev. A. P.
