It is gazetted that the regulations under 11 The Government Life Insurance Act 1888 >r have been amended to provide that in cuts of | insurances effected on the lives of ministers of ' religion whose names are duly registered under "The Marriage Act 1880," deductions shall be made from the rates of premium as follow t— (a) Whole life insurance : A deduction at ths rate of 5 per cent per annum, calculated npon the wbole premium ; (J) endowment insurances : A deduction ab the rate of 5 per cent, rper annum, calculated upon temporary insurance pure premium only ; (c) double endow* ment insurance : no deduction. The Gazette contains a list showing all lend vested in the Public Truntt'e under " The Unclaimed Lands Act 1894," up to 31st March last, with the namfs of perscna believed by tho Public Trustee to have any interest therein. * Tbe Government have decided to improve the condition of the silver currency of the colony, and have arranged with the variouß banks to retire all worn nnd mutilated coins which may be presented at any of their branches up to 31st Angmfc next. Tbe "Z j al*ndia Song Book" is approved as a cUfs book for public schoclj. The Queen has approved of the retention of the title of " honourable" by Mr W. P. Reeves on bis quitting office after more than three years' service as a member of the Executive Council of New Zealand.
