OTAGO AGRICULTURAL AND PASTROL SOCIETY.
A ajjuciai iu-fcbitig of the Sub-ouaim i' o the Ocago Agricultural and Pastoral Suei-.ty, appoinbed to carry out the arrangements of. the forthcoming winter show, was held at the secretary's < ffice on Thursday night, when a considerable amount of business was done. Judaea for the various classes were nominated, and class stewards were appointed, and it was decided to ask several experts to give lectures on agricultural and dairying matters.
The secretary was instructed to advertise for tend'U'.-> for the services of a band, and also for applications for eheckbakers, doorkeepers, and several meu who would be requited. , It was decided to ask the Hun. John M'Ktnzie, Minister for Agriculture, to publicly open the ahoiv at 2 p.m. on the 10th June, and afterwards to lay thß foundation atone of the new Agricultural Hall. A sub-committee was appointed to make arrangements for lighting the hall by electricity, and to have special admission tickets, which would be available for the three days, for the convenience of country visitors, and be obtainable on presentation of 'the railway ticket | at the Garrison Hall. Owing to the large number of applications for space, it was deoided to leave the matter of allotment over till Tuesday 26bh, the final day (>n which applications were to- be received. From the inqubies made for ppwie and entries aliv ady received, there is every prospect of the coming show being even more euccassfal than its predecessors. A communication was received from the failway traffic manager, giving detailed particulars •of fartts for the show week This was considered satisfactory and as affording < vary enccurag-.-ment to country residents to visit the show.
