TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS. Wellington, May 22. The following are the promotions, additions, and alterations to the staff of the Telegraph and Postal departments affecting the Otago district consequent on the reduction in the telegraphic rates :—: — DUNEDIN TELEGRAPH OFFICB. Messenger M'Kenzie from Gore as cadet. Letter-carrier Chitteuden from chief post office, Dunedin, a cadet. Letter-carrier Arthur promoted to second grade, replaced by * senior messenger from the telegraph officj if eligible and by new me3Stmf;er. Letter-carrier Jar vis from Balclutha as cadet, replaced by Walton, of Owaku. Letter-carrier Jordan from Milton as cadet, 1 oplaced by a senior telegraph messenger from Dunedin telegraph office if suitable, and a new measeugßr. Cadet Williams, Ashburton. Messenger Gibbs as cadet, replaced by a new meßKenger. Cadet Burgess from Bulls. Cadet Pope, from Clinton, replaced by Assistant Despatch Clerk F. M'Lean as clerk and operator, who is replaced by distributor Bolton, by a senior mcsnenger aud by a new messenger. Cadet Fastier from Westpoit. Mi MacLaughlin to Napier. Keplaced by Mr Crow from Duuedin Nortb, who is replaced by Junior Kxchange Clerk Pobles as clerk and operator, the latter being leplaccd by Distributor Gawen from Ohrißtchurch telegraph office as junior exchange clerk.
