Sir, —l notice in your issue of the 9th inst. that your special mining correspondent, uuder the heading of "Criffel," fctites that tbis company has been assisted iv their pivsprcting operations by the Government to the extent ot £300 or £400. Will" yon allow me to correct this by eayiog that the Government only agreed to advance £100 foe timber delivered on the ground for the .continuation of the tunnel. — I am, &c, John R.
