Btiggs, who owned Bed o' Stone when she won the Waterloo Cup in 1872. At a London .sale of greyhounds in March, 80 lots realised 2152g«, or an average of jnat under 27gs.- Top price was 105g* for a eapling bitch by Herfchel from R-.veu. Our Auckland correspondent wires : —"Tha May mtetiag of the Auckland Coursing Clu'o was concluded at Avoudale Plumpton last Saturday ia glorious weather. The sporb was very god, but the decision of the judge did not always give satisfaction. His ruling in the Cup was questioned, many being of opinion that the runner up, Dora B, had won. However, the .course vrai run in semi-darkuess, and the work closo to tho etcapos was hard to see from the grandstand. Bangle's d-jfeat by Lady Guy in the third round of the Maiden was also qaestioned. F. Baker scored & marked success as trainer, the.winnersof the New Lynn Maid-in, and Supplementary all being inmates of his kennel*, which also claim the runner-up of the Cup as an inmate."
