Driving His Own Horse.
A wealthy German, intent upon a day's oufiing, wanted to hire a hoise-dealer's bset horse &nd trap, but not knowing his man the horsedealer demurred at trusting them in his hand*. Determined to h»ve his drive, the German pro* posed paying for the hotße and the vehicle, promising to sell them back at tha eaJie price when he returned. To that the other saw no obj cl ; on, bo his customer's wantu were supplied, and off he went. He was back to time at 'the stables, his money reimbursed according to oontmot, and he turned to go. ' "Hold on," ezokimed the dealer, "you have forgotten to pay for the hire." " "My dear sir," was the 000 l reply, "there is no hiring in the case. I have been driving " my op u horse and fcr»p all day," and he leffe the astonished man to bis reflections.
