Afother paddock has been sown with turnips and fescue and shows a very |ood braird. Mr Rich is just about sowing 3000 b OhraWs Fesa «on « paddock he has prepared fot it. Mr Rich imported a large quantity of Festuca Duriuscula some years ago, and sowed it on the Thames Valley Company's land. It came awayvevy well, but giew a different plant from Chewingu's Feßt-ue and moreover h died out hk« the other grasses. Mr Inch has tried every grass he. can think of including the hard fescue, and none have stood in the land. Wherever he has sown Chewh.gs's Fescue it has not only held it own, but has gVadual if spread^ove? the^and^wh en the other grasses died out, of. which L had ocular demonstration in the case of the paddock sown five years ago, with a splendid mixture of grasses, including only 21b Che wings's Fescue, and in which paddock the Fescue has now practically full possession! I aiu quitfrßatisfied this Fescue is exactly what ib wanted for the enormous tractfs of poor land in the Waikato, Taupo. and other districts. iu«u.m.»iijr iuu possession.
