The Waipori School Committee Election. TO THIS EDITOR.

Sib,— The remarks re the above in your Usfc Thursday's issue and copied into the Obago Witness of the lama data call for some cotn-

ment. I own neither cuttfe nor fh*jp, and, as a matter of fact, have sided with tb.3 cattle owners against the Equ&tter. Ib is therefore evident that the motive imputed to me for, fctiuding for election is absurd, and if the old committee have been re-elected on this cattle or sheep qu'sbiou, then ib is fair to assume that cattle are of greater importance to them anil their supporters than the welfare and progress of the children at school. The composition of tin committee iv comparison with those who competed (not oppoced) with them at ths election ia also noteworthy. The committee consists of three bichelors,\the othec 'four baiog heads of families and should have direct interest in the welfare of the sohool on account of their children attending. The now nominees consisted entirely of heads of families, three of whom have children attending, and another, although h&viag no children at sohool, is well known ftfr his enthuniasin ia education, as evidenced by the result attained by his own children. Comparisons are odious, bat the above speaks for itsalf. It is pitiful to see how many of the free and independent are hoodwinked by cl&ptrip ani a bogus cry.— l am, &c., Wa>pori, May 4. Mauhsili. Blackmore.
