WELLINGTON NOTES.
By Onlookhr.
May 7. - Hera is a word of advice to &11 racing, clubs outside of the metropolitans (theaa latter do not need advice, being big enough and old enough to look after themselves — which they do) : As soon as the now-rspidly-expiring season is clean out, run in promptly yoav applications for permits for the coming fic.asoo. The Government have taken the matter in band. and they mean to hold on to it, and will administer the permits to the best of their dense of justice and knowledge as to needs of districts. The act says, I think, that 156 permits can be issued in a season. Well, whether it will be " first come, first served," I dinrta ken, but certainly country cluba will lose nothing by making etrly
application. It isn't of fen " Onlooker " has the chance to put in a bit of good advice to country cousins, co he gives this with the greater pleasure,
