May 11, — For a week or two past we had been treated to broken weather, the occasional showers having done a lot of good to the pastures, and there is now tome hope after all of a little feed for the whiter' if tho frosts hold off for a while longer. The prospect of a better winter as regards feed than was expected has raised ths prices of stock at all our country sales, aud auctioneers are now able to do bettov business in live stock than they have done for months pcut. During the past week or towards the end of the week the weather settled down again, and threshing is in full BwiDg once more. The quotations at Temuka are :— Wheat : I'earl and velvet, 3s 2d to 3s 3d ; mixad lines, 3s Id to 3s 2d ; tuscan, 3s 2d. Oata : Prime milling, Is lid to 2a 2d ; short feed, Is 8d to Is lOd ; duns nnd Danish, Is 7d to Is 9d ; all f.o.b. Oat sheaf chaff, 45s (country stations). Potatoes, 32s 6d to 35<. sacks ia (country stations). Grass seed : Farmers' lots, 2s to 2a 9d ; machine* dressed, 3s 6d to Is.
