Store Sheep.—T he demand is chiefly couftned to good, strong crossbred wethers, aho good crossbrad lambs, both sorts being- freely taken up at prices more in favour of sellers. While a coa--siderable number of aged sheep, both crossbred and merino, are changing haud«, prices are not so satisfactory to the vendors. Country Sales. —The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report having held their fortnightly sale at Clinton oa Thursday, 7th inst., aho at Crown yards, B»lclutha, the diiy following, when at each centre moderate entries were presented, and. with a very fair attendance of farmers and dealers competition was very satisfactory. Prices in consequence were up to vendors' idea of values. At Clinton we sold 86 crossbred ewes at 5s 6d to 8a 10d, 270 two-tooth cro3jbreda (mixed sexes) at 6^ 6d to 7s 9d, ]23 crossbred lambs to 6s Id. In the local market business now is confined to the placing of oddments, which are at all time 3 well competed for, though since tha opening of tha London s*les prices previously ruling are not now obtaining. Green fcktn* are slightly improving in value owing_ to the increased growth of the wool, but dry skins, while freely competed for, are not fetching the prices they did a few weeks since. Rabbitskins.— Consignments are sbiil unitnportant, but for all- coming forward a vurp good demand exists. The buyers compete freely at auction for all sorts.
