ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

Temuka, May 1. Mr Lindsay, in the employ of Messrs Ross and Glendining, who has been staying with his wife and father-in-law at the Crown Hotel, Temuka, attempted to commit suicide about 1 p.m. to-day by cutting his throat. He was with bis wife upstairs when the rash act was attempted, and her screams brought assistance) ju&t in time- to prevent its accomplishment De Hayes wat quickly in attendance and dresied the wound, whioh, though serious, is not likelf to prove fatal.
