AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL NEWS.
A meeting of milk suppliers was held on Saturday the 18oh, "in the Ooaideafcal Hotel, falmorsboD North, B*ys theM&nawatu Times, to consider the actvisableness of seceding from the Neer Zealand D»iry Union and formiug a new company. After an expl&nittou had been given by Messia Groves and Matbeson, directors of the union, during which they stated there was a surplus of £2000 on the year's transactions ; that the reclamation would not be enforced against those now in the union if it could not be collected from those who had left, and that the working expenses amounted to less than 2d per lb, a motion by Mr J, Stubbs, seconded by Mr L. R. Bryant, to the effect that it is at prosent undesirable to secede from the union, was carried.
A 12-stalled stable, with 5 commodious l v ft, belonging to Mr William. Durraur, furww, Waitahuna Wejjfc, was totally destrojel fay arc on Thursday -morning. A la-rga qmnfcifcy of oaten sheaves, tacks, harness, &c, stcred away in the building, were de&troyed. Tho building was insured in the Standard office foe £100 ; but Mr Durrant's loss will be considerably in excess of that amount.
