BENEFIT TO MEGSON AND LEWIS.
Sydney, April 25. At the cycling carnival for the benefit of Megson and Lewis with the object of obtaining funds to send them to compete in England and America there was a large crowd, and it is estimated the net proceeds will amount to over £300. Results:— ' Obbn Handicap.— M'Oombe, 30yds, 1 ; Hardy, 35ydt, 2 ; Parsons, 10yds, 3. Lewis, Megson, and Martin were among the starters. Won by a length and a-quarter. Time, Imia 3 3-ss«c. Lewis Benefit Handicap.— Amo?, 290 yds, 1; Leigh, 210yd8, Shepperd, 290 yds, and Shaw, 330 yds, dead heat for second place. Won by two lengths. Time, 4m in 52sec. Mile Scratch Race.— Megson 1, Forta 2, Payne 3. Lewis, Martin, and Parsons were among the
starters. A splendid fiiifsh. Won by halft machine. Tidae, 2min SP^ec. Mkgson Handicap.— Payne, 20yds, 1 ; Stapleton* 140 yds, 2; Porta, 20yd«, 3. Body and Megsoi! were amon? the starters. Won by a length. Time, 2uiinls4-saec. Lap Dash.— Martin 1, Paraons 2, Megson 3. Th« p*ce was a cracker. Won by a length. Time, 40 d-sscc. Martin was suffering from an injury to his leg received in Adelaide.
