SATURDAY'S MATCHES.

There was an excellent attendance at the Dunedra Club's practice match on Saturday, amongst the. number being some vetecans and many new players. The game <wat between Blues and Colours, the Blues -winning by 11 points to 6. - Stohr, foe the Blues, kicked * goal from a free kick, while tries were secured by Siie and Maclean, ' one being converted. Stephenson scored twice for the Colours, but neither try was improved. One of the latter tries was secured after a neat passing ran. The Zingtri-Riehmond held & practice at Montecillo between n Probable Fifteen and the Club. After a hard straggle, victory rested with the Probables by 10 points to nothing. Practice matches were also played on their respective grounds by the Kaikorai, Alhambra, Pirates, Union, and University Oluba. The Caversham Club held a practice match at St. Clair Park, a Picked Fifteen against Twenty-two of the club, the former winmuc by 15 points tonothiag. Probables v. the Club, the loriner winning by 6 gosh to 2 goals. Some of the new members shaped very well on the whole. There was an improvement in lha play of the Pirateß on Saturday, the forwards showing batter form and the backs passing and tackling hatter. Tries were scored by Shand (3), M6;ler (2), Neill, Samson, Frasar, Landels, Hay, and Macasscy. M&tfaeson converted two of tbese and Priest and Thomson one each,wh:h> Grepg potted a neat goal. At the Zealandift (Association) Club's prao- . trice, the" Club defeated the Probables by 1 goal to nothing. At half-time tho election of captain took place, and Mr A. E. Jay was unanimously elected, Mr G. Churchill was appointed deputy, and in accordance with the rales of the olnb, Mr A. A. Adams was elected to nil the vacancy on the Mtitch Committee, Mr Adams being a non-player. The practice matoh of the Northern (Association) Club resulted in a tie, the Probables scoring 6 goals, and the dub kicking a like number. At » meatiug held afterwards, J.
