AN INTERESTING CEREMONY.
The marriage of Mr John Munro H'Kenzfe, manager of Busb.ey Park and eldest son of tho Hon. J. M'Kenzie, Minister for Lands, to Miss Isabella Budge, daughter of Mr John Budge, farmer, Herbert, was celebrated yesterday at the lesidence of the bride's parents, at Woodland', in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends of the contracting parties. The ceremony was performed by the R«v. Mr Thompson, of Herbert, who at its conclusion addressed the younj couple in a few most appropriate words. _ The bridesmaids were Misses Barbara, Margaret, and OhrKt.in* Budge, sisters of the bride, whita Messrs J. Badge and D. A. M'Kenzie, brothers of the bride and bridegroom respectively, acted at .groonoj-meh. The bride and bridesmaids carried ■ hasdf oine tbo wer bouquets, ■ the gift of Mrs M'Kenzie, mother of the-brid<-groem. Tfce bride, who was given away by her father, wore oreau silk and the usual veil. . The bridegroom's present to the bridewa« ; a handsome pearl and diamond brooch, and to the bridesmaids gold brooches. The bridesmaids were attired in cream delaine and old gold sashes. The bride's travelling dress was of fawu tweed, with hat to match. After the ceremony was over, an adjournment [ was mads to a large marquee o» the lawn, when tho wedding breakfast wa« partaken of. The following toaits were proposed and honoured :— " The Bride and Brfflejjroom," propose* by Mr W. P. Grant and responded to by the bridegroom: " The Bride's Father and Members of the Family,' 1 proposed by the Hon. J. M'Kenzie and respokded to by Mr Budge ; " Tho Health of the Ho*. J. and Mrs M'Kenzie," proposed by Mr J. Boss and re* spnnded to by the Hon. Mr M'Kenzio. Rev. Mr Thompson, Mr Patterson, and Mrs Morrison also ma He a few i pr-ropi iate ivßisi'ks. ' The happy couple left in th« afternoon for Christchurch, araidtt showers of rice and the hearty good wishes for tho future from all assembled.
